“Struggles Make Us Stronger,”
excerpts from ShedBuilder Magazine, April 2016, Matt Poe

“Most of us try desperately to avoid problems, struggles, the hard and difficult. If we look at successful people in history, we see their lives full of road blocks, seemingly impossible to succeed, just plain struggle, but an absolute determination to succeed.”

Keller says he’s had his share of struggles, problems, and failures. In his mind, if people choose to learn from those struggles, they can go far beyond what would have been if they had never experienced the hard and difficult.

“In the Bible there are many truths for us to live by and that we can apply to our everyday life, whatever you are, as in my case a businessman,” Keller says. “Hebrews 11:13 says, ‘These all died in Faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them.’ How does this apply to me in business?”

Keller says that in order to be successful, he had to be persuaded of success and embrace it even if he wasn’t experiencing it at the moment. He had to plan what success would look like down the road.
Another Ziglar quote Keller cites is, “You were born to win, but to be a winner, you must plan to win, prepare to win, and expect to win.”
And Keller has made Oakland Structures a success. He says the company focuses on building a quality building, paying attention to detail.
“We take a lot of custom orders to get our customer exactly what they want and strive to exceed their expectations,”

“It’s very important to us that we care for the dealer and the end customer. We are careful to give support to our dealers,” he says. “We deliver all our own buildings. It’s a way to have more relationship with the end customer and to ensure they are 100 percent happy.”
